5 Best Rides in Disneyworld

Disney World is without a doubt the most impressive creation by any entertainment company on the planet. Almost seventy thousand employees are hard at work every year to bring to life an entertainment city spanning over thirty thousand acres and catering to fifty thousand patrons. With Disneyworld tickets in hand and four theme parks and two water parks it is hard to pick which rides and attractions are the best Here are our top 5 rides in Disneyworld, Orlando.

5. Crush ‘n’ Gusher

This attraction found at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon consists of three tropical themed water slides that take visitors on an exhilarating and wet ride that ends with a splash into the “hideaway bay” pool. The Crush ‘n’ Gusher is not just your generic downhill water slide, and by using water jets the riders are propelled downhill, uphill, and around turns. As everything you would expect from Disney World the Crush ‘n’ Gusher easily slides into fifth place.

4. Big Thunder Mountain

This ride features my favorite of Disney World’s artificial locations. The designers of the ride created a beautiful reconstruction of the mountainous American southwest that reminds me of hikes I used to take with my folks in New Mexico. Not the fastest or scariest of the rides at Disney World it earns a place on the list with beautiful scenery and good thrills.

3. Space Mountain

Considered one of the most popular rides at Disney World it is easy to understand why when you go through for yourself. It is a fantastic ride that succeeds in making you feel as if you have been teleported into a live version of “2000: A Space Odyssey”. Without a doubt it one of the most visually stunning of all the rides available at Disney World and if you only have one day to spend at the park then Space Mountain should definitely be on your list.

2. Expedition Everest

This ride exemplifies what Disney World is all about. This ride is not only the tallest of the mountains found at Disney World it is also the tallest mountain in Florida. It features a stunning set that includes a Yeti attacking the track and offers great views of the park. Beautiful and lively sets earn this ride the number two spot on my list.

1. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Starring Aerosmith To the millions of people who have been on this ride it will not come as a surprise that it makes the #1 spot of this list. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is an assault on all the senses that is not for the faint of heart. Literally do no get on this ride of you have a faint heart. Imagine accelerating from 0 to 57 miles per hour in under three seconds and experiencing more G force than you would experience leaving the planet earth while being bombarded by an Aerosmith light show on steroids. If you could only experience one ride this is it.

These five may be some of our personal favorites but that doesn’t mean there are not a lot of great rides available at Disney World. Go and try them all for yourself, and don’t forget to make time for some of the other Orlando attractions. Have fun!
