For visitors who like a spot of adventure while taking in the stunning nature and scenery that the Costa Blanca has to offer, the Marco Polo Expediciones Jeep Safari is ideal and should be high up on the list of things to do when in the area.
What to expect
Holidaymakers are able to enjoy a full day of adventure with Marco Polo Expediciones. They are picked up at their hotel in all-terrain vehicles, which seats eight people, and are taken on an experience that they will not soon forget.
The safari takes adventurers through along some of the most spectacular tracks, featuring valleys, mountains and obscure villages. They then drive on through canyons and come out to a reservoir of turquoise water, before travelling along a jungle river bed.
The tour will stop for a three-course meal at one of the mountain restaurants, and then it will time to head back out with a towel and swimwear to visit the Algar waterfalls and wash off the dust in the warm water. The tour can be taken for a half day or a full day and, despite being an island, Benidorm’s beauty when taking this kind of trip is its altitude – reaching 3,500 feet – and thus its incredible, scenic views.
An alternative to being a passenger is to drive one of the Suzuki jeeps throughout the landscape of the Costa Blanca. Of course, those planning on getting behind the wheel themselves will have to remember to pack their driving licence, which must be a full one owned for at least five years. Another thing not to leave without is a map or satellite navigation system, it it is also best to brush up on the local road etiquette.
Where to stay in Costa Blanca
A very comfortable base, offering easy access to the old town of Benidorm, is the Fiesta Park Hotel. Situated in a popular residential area, it offers guests an all-inclusive holiday and is just 500 metres from Poniente beach, along with many restaurants, shops and bars.
The hotel is highly recommended for adults in particular, and it is well-known for its sociable atmosphere.
