Montreal Summer Festivals

Montreal, Canada, located in the province of Quebec, is the second-largest city in Canada. It is only fitting that such a large city would have an abundance of fun and exciting summer festivals. Summer is fast approaching, and Montreal is the perfect destination to add to your summer vacation itinerary. Just keep in mind, you’ll want to book your hotel in Old Montreal well in advance as things tend to book up fast during the summer months!

Montreal Jazz Festival

The Montreal Jazz Festival takes place from June 6th to July 6th. This festival is in its 35th year and features some of the biggest name musical artists from an array of genres. This year will feature artists such as Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, and Emmy Lou Harris. These are just a fraction of the big name performers that will be present at the festival, which spans 20 days. Tickets may be purchased individually or as a package.

Les FrancoFolies

Les FrancoFolies is a hugely popular French music festival that has been in existence since 1989. It features nearly 70 indoor shows and 180 free outdoor concerts. This year, the festival will take place from June 12th through June 22nd. Artists at the festival include Fioritudes and Ingrid St-Pierre. FrancoFolies is an environmentally-friendly festival. Tickets may be purchased on an individual basis or as part of packages.

Just for Laughs

The Just for Laughs comedy festival takes place in Montreal from July 9th- July 28th. It boasts “the biggest names in comedy” and features a variety of shows. There are individual and solo shows, as well as themed shows, such as “Brit-ish”. In addition, there is a club series with features including “the All-Star Show”. Among the performers are Ron White and Kathleen Madigan. Tickets may be purchased for individually or as a packaged deal.

Dancing Under the Sun and Stars

Dancing Under the Sun and Stars is a dance festival that lasts from June through September. It includes a wide array of dance opportunities throughout the summer. One of these shows includes the “Picknic Electronik,” a large outdoor rave. Another event is a drum and dance event named “Tam Tams”. Visitors should be able to catch an event for an affordable price during any week they visit Montreal this summer.
