Things to do on your visit to Dublin

The city of Dublin is the capital city of the Republic of Ireland. It is a fantastic vibrant city full of history, culture, traditions and attractions. There is so much to see and do, for people of all ages and interests. This is a city where you’ll be spoiled for things to do, so find yourself some hotels in Dublin and join the party!

1- Guinness Factory

Ireland’s most famous export. This beverage is drunk widely throughout the world. It is a stout, characterised by its deep dark black colour and creamy head. It is rich and velvety and a totally unique flavour. A visit to see how the great stuff is made, is well worth a visit. Located in the city itself is the St James Gate factory. You can even try a sample!

2- Dublin Zoo

A great day out for all the family, adults and children alike will enjoy all that the zoo has to offer. It is fantastic for spending a day in. It is also one of the worlds oldest zoos and houses some 600 animals.

3- Croke Park

Sports mad? If this is the case, then a trip to Croke Park cannot be missed. This spectacular stadium is most famous for its atmosphere and holding traditional Irish sports such as Gaelic football and hurling. Occasional football matches are also shown. It is the fourth largest stadium in the whole of Europe. Visitors can go behind the scenes on a stadium tour and can also learn all about Irish sport and the stadium itself in the state of the art museum. Highly recommended is to take in a game too.

4- Temple Bar

The Irish music and drinking culture is famous. Experience first hand what a real Irish bar is like. Temple bar offers a fantastic atmosphere, a chance to get to know the locals and enjoy some fantastic music- very often folk.

5- National Museum of Ireland

Take a step back in time and enjoy the impressive collection at Ireland’s National Museum. Learn about Irish history and see over 2 million artifacts that have been collected throughout the ages. Entry to this is free.
